LIFE IS DISCOVERY

Self-taught photographer Daniel Fogal has spent 18 years discovering a dream.

From the moment he set his hands on his first camera in 2006, he knew it was something special. Any moment, anyone, and anything he chose, frozen in time.

It wasn't until 2013 that he realized the real power of the lens while spending two months travelling in west-central Mexico. Absorbing all of the culture, language, and sights, he decided that this was something he could never let go of.

When Daniel's father died suddenly later that year, and 15,000+ edited photos were lost to failed hard drives, he lost all self-confidence and the will to pursue photography.

Over the next eight years, thanks to the support of loved ones and his dog, Loki, he unknowingly took step after step towards his passion for photography.

In 2020, a slumbering love is awoken for a long-time friend, Kira. Genuine, supportive, loving. She gradually changed the way Daniel viewed the world. Bringing happiness forward, into perspective; a part of everyday life.

Presently, Daniel operates Fogal Photography out of Valemount, BC. Armed with a lifetime of experiences and an unwavering curiosity about our universe, he's eager to continue his discovery of life.

Daniel lives happily with his partner Kira and their ridiculously adorable fur family:

Loki, Sumo, Leeloo, Suki, and Apricot.
