LIFE IS DISCOVERY

Self-taught photographer, Daniel Fogal, has spent 18 years discovering a dream.

From the moment he set hands on his first camera (Canon Rebel xTi) in 2006, he knew it was something special. Any moment, anyone, and anything he chose, frozen in time.

It wasn't until 2013 that he realized the real power of the lens. Daniel quit his job, bought a new Canon Rebel T4i, and spent the next two months travelling in west-central Mexico. Absorbing all of the culture, language, and sights, he decided that this was something he could never let go of.

Then a series of nightmarish losses ensued: the death of his father, 15,000+ photos to failed hard drives, and all self-confidence...

Daniel would continue to take photos over the next 8 years, but the passion and drive to make it a career was gone. Thanks to the support of loved ones and his dog Loki (also a loved one), he unknowingly made step after step toward that dream again.

2020, a slumbering love is awoken for a long-time friend and current partner, Kira. Genuine, supportive, loving. She slowly changed the way Daniel looked at the world. Bringing happiness forward, into perspective; a part of everyday life.

Presently, Daniel operates Fogal Photography, out of Valemount, BC. Armed with a lifetime of experiences and an unwavering curiosity about our universe, he's eager to continue his discovery of life.

Daniel lives happily with his partner Kira and their ridiculously adorable fur family:
